When one of my pupils by accident had ordered two copies of a Christmas carols book for beginners, she decided to gift me a copy.
I gave me the idea to select a number of these carols, take their bare melodies and create nice little piano arrangements out of them. It was a very nice and creative experience.
My favorite arrangements? Well, if I would have to choose: the glowing title track “In the Bleak Midwinter” of course, but also the solemn “Coventry Carol” and the dark and gloomy arrangement of “O Come, All Ye Faithful”.
